Day 1: Cusco – Santa María: 53 kilometer cycling (Optional canoeing: 100 soles from April to November)

The first day of this journey begins with pickup from your hotel and a bus ride of approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, crossing the impressive Chinchero plateau and the Sacred Valley until reaching Ollantaytambo. You will stop at a small local restaurant to freshen up, grab a quick bite or snack, and purchase any items you may have forgotten in Cusco. Afterwards, the bus trip will continue for another hour and a half until reaching Abra Málaga, located 4,350 meters above sea level. All necessary equipment (bike, gloves, elbow pads, knee pads and helmet) will be provided, followed by a briefing by an experienced guide. Then, an exciting bicycle descent will begin to Santa María. During the journey, you can admire diverse landscapes, panoramic views and varied microclimates. Upon arrival in the town of Santa María, you will enjoy lunch. After eating, you will have the afternoon free to rest or explore the town. Optionally, you can participate in an exciting canoeing excursion along the Quillabamba River for approximately 2 hours (25 km), which includes class 2 and class 3 rapids. In the evening, you will have dinner and spend the night in Santa María.

Day 2: Santa Teresa – Aguas Calientes

The day will begin at 6:00 am with an energetic breakfast. Later, they will go to the zip line camp to enjoy this activity for approximately 3 hours, crossing the forest on six different cables. The objective is to learn to control speed and, for the more adventurous, perform maneuvers like the “Superman” or go upside down. You can also relax in hammocks. As you get closer to the ancient city, the weather will become more tropical. It will be a short drive from Santa Teresa to Lucmabamba, where you will join a local family. Afterwards, a coffee tour will take place for two and a half hours, near the camping site, where locals will show the coffee production process and you can participate in it, including harvesting your own coffee beans. Depending on the season, there will be various activities to enjoy with the local community. To end the day, dinner will be enjoyed.

Day 3: Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu – Aguas Calientes – Ollantaytambo – Cusco

In the morning, you will have the option of going up to Machu Picchu by walking for approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes or taking a bus that will take about 30 minutes. Once at the citadel, a guide will provide a guided tour of approximately 2 hours, enriching knowledge about Inca history. After the guided tour, you will have free time to explore the citadel on your own. If you wish to climb Huayna Picchu, a highly sought-after mountain with spectacular views, it is recommended to reserve three months in advance (there is a daily limit of 400 visitors and an additional cost of $25 if you do not reserve in advance). The climb and descent to the top of Huayna Picchu takes about an hour and a half, but the stunning views are worth it. Another option is to climb Machu Picchu Mountain, which offers views from the highest point of the citadel and does not require prior reservation (has an additional cost of $20). After exploring Machu Picchu, you will descend to Aguas Calientes in time to take the train back to Ollantaytambo (approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes by train), from where you will take a bus back to Cusco (approximately 1 hour and a half trip). ).
