Day 1.- Navigating the Madre de Dios River to enter the Amazon.

We will pick you up from the airport or bus station in the city of Puerto Maldonado and transfer you to our office to give you the details of the tour. At 9:00 a.m., we will ride the boats for an hour to our lodge in the wild Amazon. Once at the lodge, we will have a welcome meeting with a refreshing tropical juice. Then, you will receive your room. After a short rest, we will walk for two hours in the dense rainforest, guided by an expert local guide who will take you through our trails to see a variety of trees that may be over five hundred years old. Meanwhile, you can observe some wild animals such as toucans, snakes, butterflies, orioles, parrots, monkeys, etc.

You will have the opportunity to explore the nature of our Amazon jungle within the Tambopata National Reserve (280,000 hectares protected by the Peruvian government)

After lunch, we will visit the “Monkey Island”, located in front of our lodge on the other side of the Madre de Dios River, there you will find different types of monkeys, such as the squirrel monkey, the brown capuchin, the saddleback monkey. and white cappuccino, you can contemplate them and even feed them all. At night we will go looking for alligators, they are generally on the banks of the Madre de Dios River, with a flashlight we will illuminate them and find them because their eyes are bright and reflective. With luck we will also be able to see the capybara, the largest rodent in the world that can weigh up to 60 kg from the impressive family of Peruvian guinea pigs. Finally, we will return to the lodge for dinner and sleep.

Day 2.- Lake Sandoval and night walk.

After breakfast, we will go to the boats to go to the entrance of Sandoval Park, there we will walk 3 kilometers (2 miles approx.) To Lake Sandoval (piranha habitat), one of the largest lakes in the Tambopata National Reserve, After After the beautiful walk, we will take a rowboat with the guide to sail around Lake Sandoval and appreciate various species such as monkeys, the prehistoric Hoatzin bird, tiger cats, giant otters and common otters.

We will probably encounter a family of giant river otters (almost two meters long) that are in danger of extinction and the largest recorded crocodile at more than 4 meters long. Then we will return to the lodge to enjoy a typical lunch. Later, you can enjoy the pool and also the sunset and then take a night walk in which you will appreciate a great diversity of insects, amphibians, reptiles and other nocturnal animals. Finally, dinner and rest.

Day 3.- Zip line in the forest, kayak and fishing.

Early in the morning, we will walk on hanging bridges between the tall trees. At that height you will be able to see the tropical jungle from a different perspective, at about 30 meters high, we will have a panoramic view of the Madre de Dios River and we will observe different species of birds such as toucans, macaws, tanagers, orioles, Hoatzins and much more.

After breakfast, we will prepare to enjoy the zip line more than 40 meters high between the trees. The guide will train you on how to use the safety harness before the zip line activity, feeling the adrenaline of sliding through the trees safely, and without a doubt the experience will be forever in your memories. Later, we will return to the lodge for lunch and rest. In the afternoon you will test your skills by kayaking across the Madre de Dios River, at the same time we will be able to appreciate the fascinating sunset. To end this day, we will fish in the Madre de Dios River, with patience and attention you will be able to catch big fish that will be your dinner that night.

Day 4.- Leaving the Tambopata reserve and the Amazonas.

We will have breakfast early in the morning, then you will have time to pack your bags and leave Tambopata Park sailing along the Madre de Dios River. We recommend you book your bus in advance. Normally we will arrive in the city of Puerto Maldonado around 10:30 a.m.
