On your Sacred Valley Day Tour, you will be amazed by the variety of life in the Valley. Ollantaytambo is the focal point of the northern end of the Valley and is the entrance to Machu Picchu and the Inca Trail. The Quechua people here subsist primarily on agriculture, and some villages also revive traditional Inca weaving techniques to make textiles and other crafts for sale. Many other Inca traditions continue to live on in the music, food, and way these home communities worship the Apus. These ancient customs have largely disappeared in urban centers.
The Sacred Valley includes several traditional towns of Cusco, including Pisac, Urubamba, Ollantaytambo and Chinchero. These 4 places are the most visited by tourists because there are archaeological sites, hotels, restaurants and a variety of tourist attractions. You can book a tour, rent a car and do it on your own or traveling by public transport.
